Online Partners

America's Second Harvest relies on partnerships with like-minded web sites to build and cultivate the online aspect of our outreach. The following web sites regularly support the America's Second Harvest's Network's online initiatives, making their own audiences aware of domestic hunger as well as our nationwide hunger-relief network.

VolunteerMatch
America's Second Harvest is a Nonprofit Partner of VolunteerMatch, dedicated to helping everyone find a great place to volunteer.
VolunteerMatch is the nonprofit online service that helps interested volunteers get involved with community service organizations throughout the United States. Volunteers enter their ZIP codes on the VolunteerMatch web site to quickly find local volunteer opportunities matching their individual interests - including hunger relief.
This simple, effective service has generated thousands of volunteer referrals to the America's Second Harvest Network. VolunteerMatch has also worked closely with America's Second Harvest's food banks and food-rescue organizations in our outreach efforts to list as many volunteer opportunities as possible online.
VolunteerMatch has also donated online space to the America's Second Harvest Network during the month of June for National Hunger Awareness Day, directing even more volunteers interested in hunger-relief to our food banks and food-rescue organizations.
The Hunger Site
The Hunger Site is a free "click to give" site in which staple food is paid for by site sponsors and funds are donated to the America's Second Harvest Network.
These funds enable us to distribute the staple food that was donated through clicks made at The Hunger Site. This staple food is distributed to hungry Americans who obtain emergency food assistance through the food banks and food-rescue organizations in our network.
In addition to donating staple food, The Hunger Site also features the America's Second Harvest Network in monthly email newsletters, helping to put a face on the issue of domestic hunger.
National Catholic Reporter
The National Catholic Reporter is a print and online independent newsweekly that seeks to combine spiritual renewal and social justice, and comments and reflects on the church and society. The National Catholic Reporter emphasizes solidarity with oppressed people and respect for all, a commitment that reinforces America's Second Harvest's efforts to end hunger in America.
The National Catholic Reporter has generously and regularly donated advertisement space to the America's Second Harvest Network in its print newsweekly and on its web site, most importantly during the months leading up to National Hunger Awareness Day in June. This combined print and online visibility for our organization helps raise awareness of and open discussion about the problem of domestic hunger in an extremely conscious, thoughtful, and active community.
