America's Second Harvest To Benefit From Maxwell House "Brew Some Good" Campaign

Nation’s Largest Hunger Relief Organization Reaches More Than 25 Million Americans

CHICAGO --- November 20, 2007 --- This year, thousands of travelers will say goodbye to the hassle of holiday travel while supporting the fight to end hunger. As part of the ‘Brew Some Good” campaign, Maxwell House will help jump start travelers’ holidays by paying for their tolls on select tollways across the country from 7-9 a.m. local time on the day before Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year.

Each time Maxwell House pays a toll, they also will set aside a donation for America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network (total donation up to $100,000). This is the first time any brand has been able to ‘take over’ toll booths on a national scale.

“We are extremely pleased to be chosen as the beneficiary of this unique event. This donation is coming at a great time for us, as many of our food banks are telling us that they have seen a significant increase in demand in recent months. They need help to replenish their supplies to make sure that they can feed as many people at risk of hunger as possible,” said Vicki Escarra, President and Chief Executive Officer of America’s Second Harvest. “We provide food and grocery products to more than 25 million Americans each year.”

“For years, Maxwell House has been an important part of America’s homes and communities,” said Lorraine Hansen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of coffee at Kraft. “The ‘Brew Some Good’ campaign recognizes good on many levels – inside the coffee cup, in our lives and in our communities. Over the years Maxwell House has been committed to giving back to the community and the ‘Brew Some Good’ campaign reiterates the brand’s dedication.”

The campaign also kicks off the nationwide launch of Maxwell House reformulated coffee made with 100% Arabica beans.

“Maxwell House is the only major canned coffee brand to offer a range of coffees made with 100% Arabica beans,” said Hansen. “Arabicas are known for their superior quality, rich aroma and distinctive taste giving consumers a delicious cup of coffee that is full of flavor without bitterness. This is by far our best coffee ever.”
