The UPS Foundation Donates $125,000 to America's Second Harvest Network to Provide Assistance to Those Impacted By Hurricane Katrina

CHICAGO --- December 5, 2005 --- America’s Second Harvest — The Nation’s Food Bank Network today announced the receipt of a $125,000 donation from The UPS Foundation for continuing relief and recovery efforts in the Gulf region impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
Although three months have passed since the hurricane struck, America's Second Harvest continues to distribute food, water and grocery products to hurricane victims and evacuees. This donation will help America's Second Harvest’s ongoing efforts to purchase food and grocery products necessary to support relief efforts at five of its food banks impacted by the hurricane, including the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas; the Houston Food Bank; the Memphis Food Bank; the Bay Area Food Bank in Theodore, Alabama; and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

to help everyone affected by the devastation."
As of November 28, The
America's Second Harvest Network has distributed more than 59 million pounds of
food and grocery products.
America's Second Harvest -- The Nation's Food Bank Network is the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization with a Network of more than 200 regional member food banks and food - rescue programs serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The America's Second Harvest Network secures and distributes nearly two billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually.
